Movie: "Mom and Dad" (1945)

June Carlson, Lois Austin

"An educational sex hygiene attraction praised by 40,000,000 people!" the ads claimed. Here is the greatest of the Birth Of A Baby exploitation films, Kroger Babbs' Mom And Dad, milked for years in Babb's own travelling road show. It played to segregated audiences - women in the afternoon and men only at night. This transfer contains the complete film portion of the "World's Most Amazing Attraction",.which begins with a spirited singalong of the Star Spangled Banner. Then onto the story of Mom and Dad - a young innocent falls and gets pregnant. Halfway through the drama, an intermission is called, and that is when "Elliot Forbes, America's foremost hygiene commentator " would step onto the stage and lecture. (really a pitch for dollar sex ed pamphlets!) Then the lights go down again and the drama ensues, including the incredibly graphic "birth of a baby" scene, cesarean operation, followed by stern warnings and a parade of venereal sores.

2:30am

Movie; "The Weird World of LSD" (1967)

Terry Tessem, Ann Lindsay

Now you can experience it all and see how various middle-aged types react to LSD! A bored salesman in a strange town runs around crazed. A lonely "350-pound" art dealer eats an entire turkey. A hand is cut off and faces mutate (via rubber monster masks). A newspaper headline screams, "LSD user suicide!" Strip show scenes appear to be lifted from another movie, and there's a pretty good catfight. The soundtrack is jazz. Doug Hobart devised an outlandish advertising campaign and managed to get the feature booked on college campusus. This disc features a half-hour of way-out psychedelic extras. "Recommended for adults!"
