A case of mistaken identity lands Slevin into the middle of a war being plotted by two of the city's most rival crime bosses: The Rabbi and The Boss. Slevin is under constant surveillance by relentless Detective Brikowski as well as the infamous assassin Goodkat and finds himself having to hatch his own ingenious plot to get them before they get him.

Catherine gets emotionally involved while investigating the death of a six-year old girl at a carnival. Grissom, Nick and Warick take on the case of a jogger who was apparently attacked by an animal who knows how to use a scalpel.

Four college coeds, virginal Jennie, outgoing Carole, wealthy and spoiled Southern belle Sandra and horny Laurie, travel to Fort Lauderdale for their Easter week of Spring Break, and become involved in a series of adventures and misadventures, which include the naive Jennie being pursued by musician drifter Scott and Sandra's snobbish musician cousin Camden. Meanwhile, Carole is seeking a break in her relationship with the jealous Chip who follows her down to Florida. Sandra pursues a romance with local policeman Ernie who arrests her on the first night for being drunk and disorderly, while Laurie just seeks any man she can get her hands on.

There's a serial killer on the loose in Las Vegas. Since this is a very high-profile case, the sheriff brings in the FBI to help. This annoys Grissom very much as the FBIs like to assume many things while he prefers to let the evidence speak for itself. Due to his refusal to cooperate, he is taken off the case. Grissom's team, however, knows better and keeps their boss informed on the details.

A scuba diver (at least a man who dresses like one) is found dead, fully equipped with an oxygen tank, on a tree in a burned forest.

When a terrorist bombing in North Africa kills 19 incl. an American, an Egyptian chemical engineer flying from South Africa to his wife in USA, is arrested upon arriving USA. He disappears. His wife asks senator for help.

Crime Scene Investigation 2.08 - "Slaves of Las Vegas" (2001)
The death of a woman named Mona whose body was dumped in a sand pit leads Grissom and Catherine to a fetish club run by Lady Heather. Since Mona was a dominant, Lady Heather was surprised that her employee was tortured and suffocated to death. This leads Grissom to conclude that the victim was a 'switch', someone who could play both the dominant or the submissive role.

A beautiful but naïve aspiring television personality films a documentary on teenagers with a darker ulterior motive.

A staged suicide harks the return of a serial killer. Catherine and Gil Grissom, while at court, finds the the residing judge looks exactly like this killer. Grissom investigates the judge's past and finds a startling answer.
