Tom tells Mac that Wolfbridge is bigger than he thought, and later calls Mac from the bus station and says he's leaving town, because it's not worth giving up his life. Chip's sister Angie comes to town for Chip's funeral. Angie tells Diana that Chip's a louse, and Diana's only 1 in a long line of women that Chip used and threw away. Diana slaps her. Abby talks to Diana and says first loves never last. Diana angrily responds that it wasn't a schoolgirl crush, it was her husband who died. Greg tells Abby that she's telling Laura too much. Abby tells Laura to lay off, because she's a master at the game Laura's just learning to play. Val tells Mac that Karen's in trouble with her pills, and Eric concurs. Karen overhears them and screams at them all that she doesn't have a problem.

The tuff biker Harley and his no less tuff Cowboy friend Marlboro learn that an old friend of them will lose his bar, because a bank wants to build a new complex there and demands 2.5 million dollars for a new contract in advance. Harley and Marlboro decide to help him by robbing the corrupt bank. Unfortunately they target the wrong safety transport and get hold of an amount of a new synthetic drug. Now they are targeted both by criminal bankers and killers of the drug mob.

The Sweathogs, diverged from a food-fight, hold a sit-in to protest the school cafeteria's Wednesday liver.

The class votes to make Freddie the new leader of the Sweathogs, taking Vinnie down a notch. Vinnie becomes so upset with the loss of his title that he quits school. When his parents become aware of this, they kick him out, and he ends up staying with the Kotters; much to the dismay of Julie, who is growing tired of the Sweathogs constantly occupying Gabe's attention and life, never leaving them any time alone together. Angry, she leaves to go to a hotel.

All in The Family 3.12 - "Mike's Appendix" (1972)
Both Archie and Gloria come home in bad moods after a hard day's work. This leads to yet another argument over women's liberation. Meanwhile, Mike has been having a pain in the side and the doctor tells him that he needs to have an appendectomy. This leads Archie and Gloria's argument to the proficiency of women doctors. Mike would rather have a more expensive male doctor rather than a cheaper woman doctor.

When Edith finds some old lottery tickets that she has totally forgotten about, Archie hits the roof claiming she was wasting money. However, Archie's attitude quickly changes when the family discovers that one of the tickets is a winner, but there is a catch: Edith claims the tickets don't belong to her, but belong to George Jefferson.
