River City Wrestling #108
Winnipeg Convention Cente, Winnipeg, MB
We are welcomed by the hosts Ron Strong & Mike Stone.
Tempers have boiled over, and tonight's main event will see a giant Six Man "Anything Goes, Come as You Are" match with The Destroyer and the Roughnecks taking on Chris Lyon, Angelo Mosca, and Bobby Duncum! Should be a lesson in brutality!
Opening Bout:
Chris Pepper, 240 lbs. Winnipeg, Manitoba
v
Cuban Assassin, 231 lbs., Havana, Cuba
Pepper gets his chances, but Assassin nails him with a hard spinebuster slam to soften up his back before applying his finisher.
The Cuban Assassin defeated Chris Pepper by submission with the Havana Hug at 2:52
Interview:
Destroyer is rather philosophical about his loss of the RCW title to Chris Lyon despite the outside interference that made it possible. The Roughnecks are not so forgiving and send a warning to their opponents tonight they will be dressed as they are for the ranch - including spurs, and whatever ranch patties might be stuck to the bottom of their boots.
Bout #2:
Keith Hart, Calgary, Alberta, 214 lbs.
v
Red Demon, parts unknown, 207 lbs.
We hadn't seen Red Demon before and the fans were expecting a squash. However, it soon became obvious that this Red Demon not only could compete but was also a very dirty wrestler. The action alternated between inside and outside the ring. Hart came off the ropes but Demon ducked under a clothesline attempt, and then nailed Hart with a shoulderblock right to the head. Very vicious looking move. Demon hiptossed Hart to where he wanted him in the ring and then flipped the crowd off. He climbed to the top rope and came down with a falling headbutt to Hart to pick up a surprise win.
The Red Demon defeated Keith Hart by pinfall after a falling headbutt from the top rope at 9:45
Post-Match:
When Ron Strong went to interview Red Demon about his surprise victory the masked man pulled off his hood to reveal himself as Stampede wrestler Dynamite Kid. He told Hart that this was just a sample of the punishment he was going to receive at Wrestling Summit, so don't show up if you ever want to walk again.
Bout #3:
RCW Television Title Match
The Bounty Hunter (champion), 275 lbs., El Paso, Texas
v
Ray "the crippler" Stevens, 247 lbs., San Fransisco, California
Bounty Hunter has continued to duck Stevens after getting himself DQ'd in a prior match-up. As you would expect this match is a complete brawl with the action more outside the ring then in. But when it is inside Hunter grabs the advantage witha cobra clutch suplex, followed by a football tackle and then his Western lariat finisher. However, they are too close to the ropes and Stevens survives by draping a foot over the bottom strand.
The frustrated champion takes the match back outside and runs Stevens into the steel barriers a couple of times before Stevens strikes back. The challenger is just as vicious as the champ and nails him with a piledriver on the concrete floor.
Back inside though the champ manages to kick out at 2. Stevens gets a sleeperhold on the BH but he manages to reach the ropes and stay alive. Stevens is relentless though and slaps on his Boston crab. Again BH reaches the bottom strand to get the break but its obvious he has nothing left in the tank. Stevens takes him to the corner and nails a piledriver. He then climbs to the top turnbuckle for the Bombs Away finisher..but Pat Patterson appears suddenly from the back and throws the challenger off the top. Referee George Gadasky calls for the bell.
Ray Stevens defeats Bounty Hunter by disqualification due to outside interference from Pat Patterson at 9:10.[Bounty Hunter retains the RCW Television Title]
Post-Match:
Stevens isn't that badly hurt so he recovers fast enough to meet Patterson with a knuckle sandwich. Stevens tosses Patterson from the ring and he and the Bounty Hunter take off.
Ron Strong enters the ring to interview Ray Stevens. The crippler says he thought this would happen and has already had a meeting with RCW matchmaker Marty Goldstein in case it did. Stevens says that he has a match for the title against Bounty Hunter at Wrestling Summit, and that he has found a way to deal with Pat Patterson. In a match immediately preceeding the Stevens-BH match at Summit, Pat Patterson will be in action against...Abdullah the Butcher!!! Stevens laughs and says he doesn't think that Patterson will be helping anyone out after that match.

Main Event
Six Man "Come As You Are, Anything Goes Match"
The Destroyer & The Roughnecks (Stan Rodgers & Russel Riggs)
v
Chris Lyon, Angelo Mosca, & Bobby Duncum
Despite it being an "anything goes" match it soon got out of hand with referee Lynn Powell getting knocked out by Angelo Mosca. When RCW sent out replacement officials to try and get order restored they met a similar fate. Rodgers busted Duncum wide open with his boot spur, and Lyon attacked Destroyer with the ring bell, using it to choke him out on the announce table. Mosca and Riggs began to fight into the crowd.
Marty Goldstein came down with more officials to break it up, and when that didn't work both dressing room's wrestlers spilled out to join the fray. It was a mess as the show came to an abrupt end with a reminder that Wrestling Summit was coming on this Thursday August 4th.
