**Welcome to the Proving Grounds**
Hour #1
Owner and President Jack Larkin starts the show off with a big announcement. He says that the reason some talent has left over the past few months, new talent has been lagging, and even some no-shows like Rulon Gardner and Raymond Bingham last week , was because APW was running low on operating capital. Much of his personal wealth was wiped out, or tied up, due to his embezzlement problems from years ago that led to his exile to the Caribbean. To solve that problem he has brought in a new investor and business partner, Beslan Butba, a millionaire from Abaza, formerly part of the Soviet empire. The 50 year old businessman comes to the ring in a suit and tie for introductions. Larkin tries to sell it like Butba will be a silent partner trying to break into the North American market, but apparently no one told Butba that. He takes the mic from Larkin and tells everyone he will be sending the APW tapes all the way across the ocean to Abaza to be broadcast on his television stations Abaza TV. He also says he will have a hands on approach to hiring new talent, and will bring his first big signing next week. Larkin does not look pleased. Rulon Gardner & Raymond Bingham come to the ring. They say its not their fault they no-showed last week, its because they hadn't been paid in a month. They are back now and want their title shot. Larkin says Gardner is well known for his lack of loyalty so he has no pity for him. However, since there is not a clear cut #1 tag contender right now if they can beat the team of Thaddeus Coleman & Ricky Foley tonight they will get their title match.
Kid America defeated Jack Hasse by pinfall
**the Canadian crowd took an immediate disliking to Kid America, who is hardly a "kid" anymore, and seemed to take the short cut whenever possible. However he did come out ahead against Hasse.
Lifbrazer defeated JD McKay by pinfall
**Lifbrazer is the second straight newcomer we have tonight thanks to the new deep pockets of APW. This scary looking psycho death metal fanatic from Holland made very short work of McKay and had nothing to say about it afterward, not sticking around for a requested post match interview.
Wes Shivers defeated Asp Evergreen by disqualification for outside interference by Chyna
**No one is sure what got into Shivers, but considering his lack of focus and his temper people are beginning to figure he is overdosing on steroids. He totally lost it in his match against one half of the tag champions and probably would have injured Asp if it were not for ex-wife Chuyna coming to his aid. This just enraged Shivers more though and he started to beat Chyna from pillar to post, busting her wide open. This brought out Eddie Chavez to Chyna's defense despite their differences. He nailed Shivers three times in the back with the chair before the big man took a knee. Asp, Eddie, and Chyna took off before the big man could recover.
APW Women's title match; Nikki Crawford defeated Rain by pinfall
[Crawford retained the APW Women's title]
**Crawford used a hand full of tights to get a hard fought victory. After the match Rain's partner Lacey came down to the ring to complain to the ref before she was attacked from behind by Crawford. The champion took Rain and Lacey by surprise and took them both out with chair shots to the knee, and then the head. Lacey got the worst of it and was taken out in a stretcher.
Hour #2
Moses Luke & Steve Corino defeated Ivan & Donnie DiCaprio by pinfall
**With the leader of Wynn International Gregor Wynn sitting at ringside flanked by the lovely Katrina and Svetlana, his men did not fair well. DiCaprio tried to avoid being tagged in as much as possible and Ivan does not have the repetoire to control a match for too long. Luke and Corino said after the match they want the leader of Wynn International Gregor in the ring.
#1 Contenders Match: Rulon Gardner & Raymond Bingham defeated Thaddeus Coleman & Ricky Foley (/w Jessica Hatch) by pinfall
**Gardner and Bingham display uncanny tag team synergy, which has put them in a class with the tag champs Asp & Eddie. They really look like a credible threat to the titles again.
Main Event - Lumberjack Match - for the vacant APW Heavyweight Title
Jody Christmas defeated Collin Green by pinfall
[Jody Christmas won the vacant APW Heavyweight title]
**Hard fought match but Christmas showed he is the more experienced, and more accomplished wrestler, who looks ready to wear the belt. The lumberjacks kept Darren Michaels away from the ring, so he sat and gave guest commentary. He said his actions over the past weeks have been for Christmas' own good. He is not Christmas' manager - as managers are only interested in a short term pop which can bring 10% into their pockets. Michaels says he is Christmas' mentor, and he feels the young man is not nasty enough, and not willing to pay the ultimate price to get to the top yet ~ his soul. Even after the big win Michaels said in the ring, on the mic to Christmas, that was the easy part, the hard part, the dark winter nights still lay ahead. This really seems to throw a damper on Christmas's celebration and he is not pleased.

Hour #2
Steel Cage Match: Uriah defeated Matt Willig by pinfall
[Uriah retained the APW Heavyweight title]
**Derek St Holmes tried to pass a pair of brass knux to Uriah, squeezeing them under the cage. However the handoff took too long and Willig was able to attack Uriah from behind, grab the brass knux and nail the champ. Just when it looked like he was going to win though, Jessica Hatch came out in a bikini top and pair of daisy dukes and distracted Willig long enough for Uriah to recover. Uriah mounted a quick comeback and picked up the win. After the match Holmes clotheslined Uriah from behind. Faced with making a decision of St. Holmes or Hatch the champ looked paralyzed with indecision. However, Willig was not. At first he was yelling at Hatch but then when Holmes clothelined Hatch to the ground again Willig's chivalrous side came through. He got between Holmes and Hatch to protect her. Whem Homes tried to push Willig he flattened him with one huge punch that brought the fans to their feet. Uriah snapped out of it at this point and nailed Willig from behind with a knee to the back. Uriah then scooped up Hatch and carried her to the back ~ leaving his manager St. Holmes, Willig, and his title belt laying on the concrete floor.
Jody Christmas defeated Wes Shivers by pinfall
[Christmas retained the APW Television title]
**After the match Christmas gave an impassioned speach about how there was no more competition for his TV title. How he has beaten Jon Cutler, Mentallo, Sicodelica, Wes Shivers, Steve Corino, etc, etc. He suggests that management either start bringing in some competition for him, from overseas if need be, or he is seriously thinking about taking the title with him for an extended stay in Europe.
April Hunter, former APW Women's champion comes out in her new role as special assistant to President Jack Larkin and tells Christmas that they will have a surprise opponent for him next week ~ so be ready.
Wiry Collin Green defeated Raymond Bingham by pinfall thanks to a handful of tights
**Green, despite being a fan favorite cheated to win to even up the tainted win Bingham got over him last week. When interviewed after the match Green didn't deny it, and when Bingham came out to complain Green went right after him. Looks like we will get the rubber match next week. It is announced that for the first time ever in APW history we will use video replay next week to make sure that the victory is a clean one.

**Barbie was outmatched and outgunned in this match, and got lucky when she knocked England off the top buckle, and when she landed hurt her leg.
Gregor Wynn defeated Snarky by pinfall
**squash match for the Russian millionaire. Wynn still insisted in throwing his opponent out of the ring, distracting the ref, while his entourage Ivan, Svetlana, and Katrina worked over Snarky before throwing him back into the ring.
Asp Evergreen & Eddie Chavez defeated Wade Garrett & the Pittsburgh Mauler
**glorified squash match
