Fitch is trying to enjoy time with his son Bobby but he can't escape his New York past when Albert Stram makes an appearance in Detroit and starts making threats. When an entire family is brutally murdered Fitch works to piece the crime together and comes to a devastating conclusion. Leaving Washington to guard Bobby, Fitch, Longford and Mahajan head out to ensnare Stram. In order to save his family and the squad, Fitch will have to choose which side of the law to come down on. Longford wonders if it's too late to postpone his retirement.

The team re-opens the 2000 case of a prominent Puerto Rican assistant district attorney when rumors about his connection to a large amount of money gone missing at the time of his death start to circulate. However, his widow insists that the claims are not true. The re-investigation reveals that the victim was prosecuting a murder trial and the man convicted for the crime after his death may possibly be innocent.
