While Drama practices for his acting class over breakfast, Turtle enters with some bad news: an important trade magazine has given Vince's performance a negative review (including calling him a "fly-by-night pretty boy"). While paying Ari an office visit to discuss it, Eric meets Ari's new assistant, Emily. Following Ari's advice to show Vince a good time to get his mind off the review, Eric okays Vince's poor decision to lease a new Rolls Royce. Jessica Alba bumps into the boys during their luncheon and invites them to her party for Justine Chapin, her virginal pop-singer friend. The party proves to be a good time for everybody: Justine hits on Vince, Turtle shows off the Rolls to some girls, Eric gets some much needed assurance, and Drama finds that he isn't the only one skipping his acting class. In the morning, Eric reads Vince a review from the New York Times proclaiming him to be "the next Johnny Depp."

Jack and his new partner, Chase Edmunds, witness a deal to be signed with Ramon Salazar, a drug lord that Jack helped take down, working under cover for several months within the organization.Palmer survived the assassination attempt on his life, and returns to LA for the first time since that attack. He is running for re-election and is preparing for an important debate with a rival senator. A young boy, Kyle Singer, is seen examining a large, mysterious bag of white powder.To keep an eye on his daughter, Jack got Kim a job at CTU, but unbeknownst to him, she has been dating Chase.

Ramon finds it difficult to celebrate his freedom with Jack still alive, and fights the urge to kill him before they arrive in Mexico.Gael is captured while trying to escape from CTU, but Tony stops it, and the reason why shocks Chappelle.Anne is given a chance to clear Palmer's name, while Chase heads for Mexico to rescue Jack.

Palmer and Chappelle view a message from Jack, explaining his undercover work with the Salazars. Meanwhile, Hector tries to convince Ramon that they should deal with Bauer so that they can get their hands on the virus.Jack has a private moment with Claudia and she blasts him for leaving her behind when he arrested Ramon.Chase arrives in Mexico, but is captured by Hector's men. Ramon devises a way for Jack to prove his loyalty to them.Anne manages to clear Palmer's name, but she breaks off her relationship with him.

Palmer clears Anne's name with the press, but he finds that he is facing a new problem when his biggest campaign contributor reveals a startling secret about Wayne.Kim and Michelle worry about Tony's mental ability when he continues to make mistakes.Jack and the Salazars meet with Amador, but the deal turns sour when someone from Jack's past appears on the scene and competes for the virus.
