They go to Val's and tell her they're moving, but will always love the babies. Val lets them say goodbye to the twins.

After listening to a radio broadcast asking for men to form what was to become known as the home guard, George Mainwaring, a local bank manager, decides to act and form the platoon on his own. He appoints himself as Captain and recruits his chief bank clerk Arthur Wilson as the platoon sergeant as well as enlisting the banks office boy Frank Pike. Several of the local tradesmen, including James Frazer; a philatelist shopkeeper, retired shop worker Charles Godfrey, Jack Jones the butcher and black market business man; Joe Walker also volunteer their service for 'King and Country'.. And so, The Walmington-On-Sea Home Guard was born.

Leslie (Aunjanue Ellis) and Len (Matt Craven) are on a stakeout, looking for a young man who robs women at an ATM at knife point. Terry (Matthew Beck) discovers that he used stolen materials to build a nursery for his soon to be born baby. Leslie continues to search for her daughter.

Mike comes to the aid of the wife and daughter of a cop who are fleeing the violence of their home, and finds them temporary refuge at Saint Victor's. After Grizz tells the wife that Mike's a former cop, she flees to New Jersey where Mike quickly tracks her down. Upon their return to Philly, Marcellus arrests them for kidnapping but is forced to release them when neither one will reveal the whereabouts of the little girl. Marcellus connects Mike with the cop, who tells a story that resonates uncomfortably with Mike's recollection of his own behavior, which is confirmed by his son. Troubled, he talks to Grizz and then follows his advice to make amends with Heather. When Mike sets a trap to discover the truth about the cop's abuse, he finds that the truth is not always what it seems.

Lenny (Matt Craven) and Leslie (Aunjanue Ellis) are flagged down by a deaf woman who tells them her brother is being held at gunpoint. They follow the woman to her home where they find a hostage situation. Leslie comes close to shooting the woman's brother who has managed to get hold of the gun. Richie (Julio Oscar Mechoso) and Gayle (Catherine Kellner) are at the scene of a major auto accident where a small boy and his father are trapped in their van and a utility pole has been knocked down. Gas is everywhere and the power line is sparking. Finally power to the area is turned off and Richie is able to free the boy and his father. Marsh (David Keith) and Willitz (Cole Hauser) stumble upon an armed robbery and chase the robber through a church parking lot and into a public library where Russell (Louis Mustillo) and Terry (Matthew Beck) are in the vicinity. Lenny, who is covering the back exit, comes face to face with the robber and is overcome with memories of his partner's death, letting the criminal get away. After the incident he decides to get psychiatric help.
