The team re-opens the 2000 case of a prominent Puerto Rican assistant district attorney when rumors about his connection to a large amount of money gone missing at the time of his death start to circulate. However, his widow insists that the claims are not true. The re-investigation reveals that the victim was prosecuting a murder trial and the man convicted for the crime after his death may possibly be innocent.

The father of the murdered boy apprehends the killer, after he discovers the killer (whose injured LaSalle) has escaped from the precinct.

Amy and Mark team up to represent Suzanne Erikkson, a researcher at Gonnick Foods who was fired when she warned her bosses of the dangers of a new genetically modified grain. Since Suzanne had a whistleblower clause in her contract, Gonnick is being sued for breach. Gonnick’s huge settlement offer does nothing to soften her stand, but with her research data and test results missing, it will be a hard case to prove in court. It seems that Suzanne was sent to seminar just days after her voicing her concern. When she came back, her files were gone. She suspected Tom Belfour, her boss. He denied it; they argued; and he fired her for insubordination. Things take a turn for the worse when Amy and Mark learn that Suzanne and Tom are ex-lovers. He broke up with her; suing him just looks like revenge. Now they’re facing a trial with no evidence - and a client with credibility issues. Still, Suzanne refuses to accept a settlement, vowing to clear her muddied reputation, and prove she’s right about her research.
