Cartman wins a national environmental essay contest by plagiarizing Thoreau's Walden. The prize is getting on live TV with Kathy Lee Gifford, who visits South Park. This causes Mr. Garrison to relive a traumatic childhood memory when young Kathy Lee beat him in a talent show. Mr. Hat convinces Mr. Garrison that he must kill her. Meanwhile, Cartman decides to take Weight Gain 4000 so that he can "bulk up" for his big appearance. He becomes so fat that when he is accepting the award from Kathy Lee, the stage collapses at the same moment Mr. Garrison fires at her, hitting Kenny instead. Cartman gets to be on Geraldo, Mr. Hat is committed to a mental hospital, and Chef gives Kathy Lee some sweet lovin'.

Tour of Duty 1.20 - "Angel of Mercy" (1988)
In a small South Vietnamese hamlet, an NVA officer arrives to brief his men that they will soon begin infiltrating towns and villages through-out the country in preparation for the Tet Offensive. Meanwhile, Bravo is in the bush, while Baker is losing a battle with his dysentery. As he "answers the call of nature" he sights VC closing on the unit and then, pulling his pants up, gets a frog down them, and starts screaming. As the American's come running, a fire fight starts, ending with the capture of an NVA Colonel Trang. Goldman catches a bullet in the helmet and in his jacket as they try to retreat. Though saved by his clothing, he still does need to go to the hospital along with Anderson, who is hit with shrapnel. While Goldman and Anderson recover, Trang dies under mysterious circumstances during interrogation.

A senator's political rally turns into tragedy when a man begins shooting, which leaves the senator and six other attendees dead. As Detectives Morales and Jaruszalski use the department's latest tech toy to find the killer, DDAs Dekker and Rubirosa butt heads over the best way to run the case. Elsewhere, TJ's mission to locate Winters' killer puts him at risk.

Ed Marinaro is Malcolm "Mace" Douglas, a street-tough detective who's out for justice-no matter what the cost. While investigating the mysterious suicidal heroin overdoses of four beautiful exotic dancers, Mace puts together the pieces of a deadly puzzle, infiltrating a violent ring of shadowy drug and weapons dealers, Mace methodically tracks a serial killer (Rick Washburn) with murderous ties to a ruthless foreign diplomat (Harry Goz). Mace won't stop until he gets some answers. The FBI and KGB have them, but now they're talking back with bullets.

When Mike attempts to return the cell phone a stripper named Molly leaves in his cab and discovers that she's disappeared, he sets out to find her for the sake of Quinn, her twelve year old daughter; Marcellus's old friend and mentor Henry Baker asks his help in investigating how his jobless grandson Darryl has such an endless supply of cash; Quinn and Marcellus provide Mike with the inspiration and information he needs to find Molly, who's been kidnapped by one of the partners in the law firm where she works during the day as a paralegal; after Marcellus discovers that Darryl is linked to a series of high-end burglaries, he offers to sweep it under the rug, but Henry refuses to allow Marcellus to cover up the boy's crimes.
